Disaster Dogs of Illinois is currently recruiting search dog candidates that have been sheltered, recued, abandoned or unwanted by their owner's for a rewarding career in Urban Search & Rescue (US&R) with our company. We are currently accepting five breeds of dogs that are between 12 and 16 months old; exhibit a high play drive and a non-aggressive personality.

The Five breeds that work the best for US&R are Labrador Retrievers (yellow or black), Australian Shepherds, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers and Belgium Malinois.

The cost associated with training these dogs and handler teams can be as much as $10,000 for each dog and handler; therefore, your donation of a K-9 that meets the requirements we are looking for would be greatly appreciated.
